The Villa de Austin is an outdoor educational exhibit of the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site located in San Felipe, Texas. Construction of this program area is currently underway with opening planned for 2021. This website is for the benefit of our volunteers who are being recruited to "Learn the Skills" and "Dress the Part" of the residents of this town in the 1823-1836 era. The San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site, operated by the Texas Historical Commission, preserves and interprets the site of Stephen F. Austin's first town in Texas. The village served as the center of colonization of Mexican-owned Texas and as capital of the Texian colonists for most of the Texas Revolution.
